Storytelling: 3055 represents Jean Leon’s license number when he worked as a New York City cab driver, one of his first jobs. It reveals the man behind the legend and the humble origins of an idealist who achieved his dream of opening the most famous restaurant in Hollywood and creating his own namesake wine.
Tasting note: Deep red in color with purplish rim. Very opaque and dense. Wonderfully intense ripe red fruit on the nose against a light backdrop of toast and spices with notes of black pepper. Sweet on entry with moderately firm structure and remarkable, soft, silky tannins. The long persistent finish reveals subtle echoes of fruit through to the very end.
Serving suggestion: Good match for both fish and meat. Excellent with cod in a tomato-veggie pisto sauce.
